- Teachers and home-schooling parents can use this book as a supplement to both math and art curricula. The blank-grid section includes educational material about the geometry of grids and tessellations, where they can be found in the real world, and how they are used in art. This text includes over 40 vocabulary words, underlined where they are used in context, with phonetic pronunciations provided where appropriate. The words are also presented in two subject-specific lists (one for geometry, one for art & design) at the end of the book. Various reading level calculators consistently scored the text at a seventh- to eighth-grade reading level (appropriate for students aged 12–14).
- Children and adults on the autism spectrum and with other learning differences are especially apt to be fascinated by these deceptively simple designs. The pictures have been tested both by neurotypical (“ordinary”) people and by individuals with learning differences. We have seen some amazing bonding and rapport-building between individuals coloring their own copies of the same picture!
